ESP8266 WiFi Repeater Kit

I developed a WiFi Repeater kit that could be used to extend network coverage into areas with poor or no coverage.

The WiFi Repeater is very compact and it could be directly powered by wall outlet as shown below. Or, with some tweaking, it could be powered by 9V or 12V battery to provide network coverage in area without AC power supply.

To use the WiFi Repeater, follow the steps below:

1. Download and install WiFi Analyzer to your phone

For Android, I would recommend "Wifi Analyzer"
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.farproc.wifi.analyzer&hl=en

For IOS, please search the App Store for a similar tool.

2. Launch WiFi Analyzer on your phone, move around in the area where you need to install the WiFi Repeater and observe the signal strength of the existing wireless router / access point until it's around -75 ~ -70dBm (this is the place to install the WiFi Repeater). Note that you could go lower -75dBm to -80dBm or even lower but it will affect the performance of the network in the area extended via the WiFi Repeater.

3. Plug the WiFi Repeater to the wall outlet, connect your phone to its AP (the default SSID of the AP is MyAP), launch web browser and type in "192.168.4.1" in the URL field to connect to the management page of the WiFi Repeater.

4. Enter the SSID and password of the WiFi Router / Access Point that you want the WiFi Repeater to connect to and make changes to the WiFi Repeater's SSID and Password.

5. Connect the devices located in the areas covered by the WiFi Repeater to get stronger network connection and better performance.
