Feature Description:
The system detects bed exit and
wirelessly transmits bed exit alarm to a remote receiver. Upon receipt of
the bed exit alarm, the remote receiver gives out warning in the form of light indicator
and warning tone. To avoid disturbing the person receiving care, the
system located at the care recepient’s site only gives out warning in the form of
light indicator.
The person receiving care doesn't need to wear any equipment and the bed doesn't need to have any kind of sensing pad on it.

Wireless Link Lost Detection:
The system is equipped with wireless link
lost detection function. In the event of wireless link lost or the system at
the care recepient’s site is powered off, the remote receiver will give out
alarm in the form of light indicator and warning tone.
Input Power:
This system draws its power from the
main power supply (using AC110 ~ 220V to DC 9 ~ 12V adaptor). In the event of
main power outage, the system can be powered by DC9V battery (see photo below).
Wireless Transmission Distance:
The max. distance between the Base Station
and the Remote Receiver is about 50 meters (~164 feets) in an open and
unobstructed environment. In a typical reinforced concrete building, it has been tested that the Base Station and Remote Receiver could communicate properly when
they are separated by 1 to 2 floors (2 concrete floors or walls) (note: the wireless
transmission distance may be greater or shorter depending on the material in the wall or floor and other environmental factors).
The maximum distance between the Bed Exit
Sensor and the Base Station is approximately 8 meters (~26 feets).

It powers the Bed Exit Sensors and relays
bed exit alarm to the Remote Receiver wirelessly.
Remote Receiver x 1
It monitors wireless link status and bed
exit alarm and gives out alarm in the form of light indicator and warning tone.
How to use the system
1. Connect the Bed Exit
Sensors to the Base Station using the RJ-11 cables provided. (note, when using RJ-11
cable from other source, be sure that it’s a 2-pair, crossed-over cable with
cable length less than 8 meters (~26 feets)) ;
2. Place the Bed
Exit Sensor on the floor near the bed with the face that has 2 round holes
facing the far end of the bed (see below disgram). The effective
range of the Bed Exit Sensor is about 2.5 ~ 3 meters (less than 9 feets) (the
distance from the holes to the bottom of the dashed triangle), the detection
angle is around 30 degrees (the angle at the top of the dashed triangle).
Note,
· The unused sensor may be placed next to another sensor to
increase the coverage area (as shown above on the right);
· The unused sensor may be placed on a bedside table to
serve as a wireless bell for calling for help (the sensor can be triggered by
blocking the 2 round holes with hand or other object).
Alternatively, the extra sensor can be
place next to the bed room door to sense the opening of the door and send out
the alarm..
3. Power on the
Base Station (note, please make sure that no one is standing in the detection
range). When the Base Station is powered on, its green indicator light will
flash ten times (note, the system is calibrating itself during this time). And
the red indicator light will be steadily on (note, this indicates that the wireless
link with the Remote Receiver is lost).
Note, it is
recommended that the Base Station and Remote Receiver be powered off / powered to
re-calibrate the system everytime after the care recepient gets in the bed (because
the objects within the detection range may have been changed since the last
calibration).
4. Power on the
Remote Receiver. The Remote Receiver may generate warning tone and the red
indicator light may be on constantly (note, this indicates that the wireless
link between the Base Station and the Remote Receiver is lost). If the wireless
link is alive, the warning tone will stop and the red indicator light will start
flashing within 10 to 20 seconds automatically (at about once every five
seconds).
If the warning
tone doesn’t stop or the red indicator light remains on for more than 20
seconds, please refer to the below flow chart for simple troubleshooting.

When Bed Exit Sensor is triggered, the
green indicator light on the Base Station will be turned on. At the
same time, the warning tone and the green indicator light on the Remote Receiver
will be turned on as well. In the event that the Bed Exit Sensor is not
triggered again, the warning tone will stop within 10 seconds but the green
indicator light will remain on until the reset button on the Remote Receiver is
depressed and released. When the reset button is depressed and released,
the green indicator on the Remote Receiver will be turned off and the green
indicator light on the Base Station will also be turned off within 5 to 10
seconds.
